At Family Cosmetic and Restoration Dentistry, we work with porcelain fillings. We do fillings for patients who have tooth damage caused by decay or breakage. First step is to clean out the cavity removing any decayed tooth material, and then we go ahead and fill the affected cavity with our sealing material.
For those patients that already have mercury fillings and need replacements, we will work around existing dental work and be sure to find solutions that are both ascetically appealing and physically strong.
We are able to provide tooth-colored restorations for our patients with damaged or broken teeth. The process that we use is with resin onlays that are bonded to the teeth creating a secure fit to the natural tooth. We perform these restorations in instances where much of the tooth structure has been lost. Therefore the final product of the tooth remains intact and stronger.
Since the resin used in tooth-colored restorations contain fluoride this can help prevent decay. The resin wears like natural teeth and does not require placement at the gum line, which is healthier for your gums!
The result is a beautiful smile!
